City Council approves amendment to SeaTac’s fireworks ordinance allowing for some commercial fireworks
Some consumer commercial fireworks are still banned including: aerial, airborne, discharges, launches and explosive fireworks. Firecrackers, sky rockets, missiles and bottle rockets are only legal to purchase, possess and discharge at Native American reservations.
SeaTac Police provide first quarter crime statistics to City Council
The first quarter includes the months of January, February and March. There were 116 crimes against people in the first quarter. Crimes against people includes instances of human trafficking and kidnapping.

City Council passes Renters’ Protection Ordinance
The new ordinance establishes several new rules, which include: • Increased notice for rent increases of greater than 3 percent and move in fees are limited to the equivalent of one month’s rent.
City seeking public input on proposed rental housing protections at meeting on March 10
On Friday, March 10, 4-8 p.m., the City is hosting an open house style community meeting at City Hall so renters, landlords and other community members can learn more and provide comments on the proposed new rules.
