City Council passed the 2023-24 biennial budget on Nov. 8. Across all funds, the City of SeaTac’s two-year budget is $162.3 million dollars.

City Council approves additional funding for organization that will provide rental assistance
City Council approved additional funding for the African Community Housing & Development organization Tuesday night. The $150,000 in additional funding came from the City’s General Fund and is expected to be divvied out by the group for rental assistance to members of the community.

The City of SeaTac operates on a two-year budget cycle. Every two years, the City Manager presents a preliminary budget to the City Council. The City Council reviews the preliminary budget, makes recommendations and then approves a final budget.
SeaTac police present updated crime stats to City Council, 205 arrests made this year
So far this year there have been 399 crimes against people. These stats include cases of human trafficking, homicide and kidnapping.
SeaTac City Council approves contract to replace playground equipment at Community Center
The selection of the playground equipment was based on the number of possible play activities, unique design, and visual appearance. It is anticipated the playground equipment will be installed in late 2022 or early 2023.
SeaTac hosts volunteer appreciation lunch with Mayor, Councilmembers in attendance
This year, event attendees totaled 65 comprising of volunteers, staff, Mayor Jake Simpson, Councilmembers Peter Kwon and Iris Guzmán, and City Manager Carl Cole. The City Council and staff were thankful to gather once again to show appreciation for the countless time and effort given by volunteers.
