3 illegal park n’ fly businesses shut down by SeaTac Code Compliance
Investigations by SeaTac’s Code Compliance Program Coordinators confirmed that three illegal park n’ fly operations were operating without business licenses and required permits, and in zones where the park n’ fly was either not allowed or not allowed without structured parking.
Code compliance supports clean, safe homes
The most common violations reported are accumulations of trash and junk, overgrown vegetation, vehicles parked on lawns or unapproved surfaces and inoperable vehicles. These property conditions are not only unpleasant to see, but they can also lead to unhealthy conditions by attracting all manner of pests.
SeaTac Council funds efforts to help youth enter construction trades
This week SeaTac City Council unanimously approved $115,200 for SeaTac students attending the pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs for the construction trades. Job fair connects 250 people to opportunities
Last week, SeaTac joined other groups at a job fair hosted at the Burien Community Center. Around 250 job seekers dropped by to meet with employers.
Closure at Military Road, International Boulevard starts this week as work continues for the Polaris development
A permanent closure at the intersection of Military Road and International Boulevard will start April 24 as crews install new curb and gutters.
SeaTac completed 26 home repairs last year, learn more about the program
In 2022 the City of SeaTac completed 26 repairs ranging from small repairs such as plumbing and electrical to larger repairs like ramps, steps, railings and even a new furnace.
Last chance: Take SeaTac City Center BIG IDEAS poll by April 30
The online poll is available in the top five languages spoken in SeaTac: English, Amharic, Spanish, Somali, and Vietnamese. The City would like to hear from more residents, workers, visitors, business owners and anyone interested in the district before the poll closes at the end of this month.
City Council passes Renters’ Protection Ordinance
The new ordinance establishes several new rules, which include: • Increased notice for rent increases of greater than 3 percent and move in fees are limited to the equivalent of one month’s rent.
