Puget Sound Fire recently restructured its FDCARES program after receiving a grant from the Medic One Foundation. They hired social workers to accompany nurses on calls that are related to behavioral, mental health issues, falls, drug and alcohol issues or any calls that would not require a trip to the emergency room.
In early September, City Council approved a $1 million budget amendment to fund significant updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Master Plan. The combined project, known as “SeaTac 2044,” will re-set the City’s twenty-year growth and development policies for the years 2024 to 2044.
SeaTac will bring back some familiar fall events this season with the return of the Great Pumpkin Night on Friday, Oct. 14 at the SeaTac Community Center.
The Mayor’s Reception offered special insight into the region, featuring “State of the City” presentations from Mayor Jake Simpson, Burien Mayor Sofia Aragon, Tukwila Mayor Allan Ekberg, Normandy Park Mayor Sue-Ann Hohimer, Des Moines Mayor Matt Mahoney, and a “State of the Port of Seattle” presentation from Commission President Ryan Calkins.
A pump track is a series of rollers, banked turns and other features designed for the rider to travel a circuit without pedaling a bicycle. Construction is expected to be completed by November.
Several proclamations were signed and announced at SeaTac City Council meetings this month.
Participating cities in Washington include Seattle, Burien and of course, SeaTac. The state’s The Adopt-A-Drain program launched a year ago thanks to the Washington Stormwater Center.

Construction of the spray park is expected to start in 2024 and will be completed later that same year.
The new businesses should open their doors in 2023. The new businesses include three restaurants, market, deli, bubble tea shop, coffee shop, childcare, barber shop, electronics repair and sales store, chiropractor office, and a neighborhood police office.
