It was just announced that communities across the State of Washington, including the City of SeaTac, will receive a total of $2,671,200 from the Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program. This funding will help develop road safety plans that will make streets safer for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

On Wednesday, September 4, the City of SeaTac welcomed Governor Jay Inslee, who joined City Councilmembers and staff to celebrate the completion of an important sidewalk improvement project that will increase pedestrian safety and provide students with another safe walking route to school. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the corner of 34th Avenue South and South 166th Street to announce the new sidewalks, along with other new safety features, that were installed along 34th Avenue South from South 161st to 166th Streets.

Welcoming Week is an annual, national campaign that focuses on celebrating and joining efforts to create communities that are welcoming places for all, including immigrants. Join us on Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the SeaTac Community Center.
Located at City Hall, the Community Court and Resource Center is dedicated to helping eligible individuals charged with certain misdemeanors and SeaTac residents who are struggling with essential services. The Community Court provides the opportunity of having charges dismissed after graduating the program.
