WSDOT announces new dates for 24th Avenue overpass closure, set to begin in August

This work will repair structural damage, which occurred when a truck hit the overpass while traveling on SR 518. The detour to avoid this closure will take drivers along city streets.

Traffic delays expected from work on the 2023 Overlay Project this month

Construction started on July 17 along South 154th Street and South 156th Street between Des Moines Memorial Drive and 24th Avenue South. Lane closures will occur daily.

SeaTac population is expected to drop to 31,740

SeaTac’s population dropped between 2021 and 2022 and is expected to decrease slightly this year as well. In 2021 the city’s population was 32,000, in 2022 that dropped to 31,910 and this year the city’s population is expected to drop to 31,740.
