The online poll is available in the top five languages spoken in SeaTac: English, Amharic, Spanish, Somali, and Vietnamese. The City would like to hear from more residents, workers, visitors, business owners and anyone interested in the district before the poll closes at the end of this month.

City Council passes Renters’ Protection Ordinance
The new ordinance establishes several new rules, which include: • Increased notice for rent increases of greater than 3 percent and move in fees are limited to the equivalent of one month’s rent.
City Council approves contract with group that will assist with in-home childcare businesses
The need for additional childcare availability and capacity was identified by the Business Synergy Program outreach in 2021 and 2022. The initiative will provide SeaTac residents with childcare spots to help those looking for employment and needing childcare services find these services in SeaTac.

New permit, land use application portal coming to SeaTac soon

WSDOT to close lanes on I-5, off-ramp to South 200th Street for construction
Construction crews will close the northbound I-5 off-ramp to South 200th Street/Military Road South and up to three lanes on northbound I-5. This work is part of WSDOT’s SR 509 project.

King County Sheriff’s Office collected nearly 300 weapons at its Gift Cards for Gun drop off
he event ran from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and allowed gun owners to anonymously drop off firearms in exchange for Visa and Mastercard gift cards. The prices for these gift cards varied upon the items dropped off. A little over $36,500 was given away in exchange for these weapons.
