he event ran from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and allowed gun owners to anonymously drop off firearms in exchange for Visa and Mastercard gift cards. The prices for these gift cards varied upon the items dropped off. A little over $36,500 was given away in exchange for these weapons.
King County Sheriff’s Office announces Gift Cards for Guns program
The program is funded by a $100,000 allotment granted by the King County Council last year. This program aims to reduce the number of guns in circulation and promote public health and safety. Gift Cards for Guns is a voluntary program that provides the public with a viable alternative for disposing of firearms and ammunition.

SeaTac police helped reunite movers with their property after an entire-truck full of property was stolen at a hotel in early February.
Police arrest one suspect in connection with Big Foot Java robbery
Around 10:45 p.m., police responded to a robbery at the coffee shop, which is just off our Military Road South. Two masked men robbed the coffee shop and gunpoint and drove away in a stolen SUV. No injuries were reported.
SeaTac Police assist in human trafficking operation earlier this month
Homeland Security Investigations led this undercover operation with the assistance of the King County Sheriff’s Office and police from SeaTac, Seattle and Bellevue. The operation was conducted near the Sea-Tac airport the week of Feb. 6.
Police arrest teenager after hit-and-run, vehicle chase
SeaTac Police responded to a vehicle incident at the Doubletree Hotel on Sunday, Feb. 12 around 1 a.m. It was reported that a driver drove into the hotel’s valet area and hit several people inside at the location on the 18700 block of International Boulevard. The driver fled the scene. People hit sustained minor injuries.

Summer events near end with Touch-A-Truck winding down the season
This summer, SeaTac residents and visitors were able to enjoy Music in the Park, Theater in the Park, Kids Jam, Kidz Night and Touch-A-Truck at City parks.
Conversations with the City Manager Carl Cole: Explaining recent crime data and what the community can do to help police
Cole is a subject matter expert on crime because he served the City from 2016 to 2019 as Police Chief. His experience comes from over 27 years working for the King County Sheriff’s Office.
