The City implemented a new lighting policy last week that establishes a new aesthetic for lighting and provides guidance for staff and developers on the design, illumination and installation of street light standards.
SeaTac continues to add sidewalks near schools to provide safe walking paths
With school back in session, the City continues to work on projects that provide safe walking paths to neighborhood schools. Some projects are funded with federal money through a Safe Routes to School grant program. Most projects were funded through a combination of state, other federal grants and City monies through the Street Fund.

Today the FDA authorized updated booster vaccines for emergency use, but there are still a few steps left in the approval process. SeaTac crews pick up 430 bags of litter from local streets so far this summer
SeaTac crews have been going out twice a month to specifically pick up litter near highway on and off-ramps. So far in August, crews have spent 20 hours cleaning up these areas, resulting in 60 bags of garbage.
