City Council approves contracts for 2022 Overlay Project that will see resurfacing on South 188th Street
This project proposes resurfacing roughly one mile of pavement along the South 188th Street corridor between International Boulevard and the intersection of Des Moines Memorial Drive South, including the 188th Street tunnel that runs beneath the south end of the Airport runway.
City Council extends existing moratorium on work-release facilities to allow time for research
The ordinance will extend the existing moratorium for an additional six months, creating a new expiration date of March 1, 2023. Last year, City Council adopted the original ordinance that established the current moratorium, this ordinance also included a work plan for a Planning Commission study.
