SeaTac Police arrest 12 in operation targeting sex buyers
Earlier in June, SeaTac police completed an operating targeting sex buyers in the City. Police were assisted by Maple Valley Street Crimes, King County Sheriff’s Office Intel, Metro Street Crimes and Homeland Security agents.
City Council approves contract for group to update the Surface Water Management Comprehensive Plan
After the consultant group completes necessary research and investigation into city needs, a utility rate increase for the public will be considered. This project is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
City Council approves construction contract for project that will repave more streets this year
The 2023 Overlay is a single project with work being performed at two separate locations: • Site 1: South 154th Street / South 156th Way between Des Moines Memorial Drive and 24th Avenue South • Site 2: South 160th Street eastbound left turn lane at the signalized intersection that serves the Port of Seattle’s Rental Car Facility and Transportation Network Company (example Uber/Lyft) staging lot.

Returning to the lineup this year the City will be hosting a full-day of fun at Angle Lake Park on July 4. The park opens at 7 a.m. with fireworks around 10 p.m. The Children’s Zone will be open from noon until 8pm, kids will have the chance to play on slides, bouncy houses and so much more. Live music starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. This is a free event.
River Ridge school sidewalk project begins
Major construction began this week on the roadway and sidewalk improvements near Kent’s River Ridge Elementary School. The project spans the eastern side of Military Road South between South 225th Place and South 229th Place
3 illegal park n’ fly businesses shut down by SeaTac Code Compliance
Investigations by SeaTac’s Code Compliance Program Coordinators confirmed that three illegal park n’ fly operations were operating without business licenses and required permits, and in zones where the park n’ fly was either not allowed or not allowed without structured parking.
Code compliance supports clean, safe homes
The most common violations reported are accumulations of trash and junk, overgrown vegetation, vehicles parked on lawns or unapproved surfaces and inoperable vehicles. These property conditions are not only unpleasant to see, but they can also lead to unhealthy conditions by attracting all manner of pests.
